"He's a good dog. He just doesn't listen. I've watched a hundred YouTube videos. None of it sticks. I feel like I'm failing him."

"I was very pleased with the results of Bella's 3 weeks board and training. My main wish was for her to not be so reactive to other dogs. I brought her home a week ago and we went for a long walk. We saw three dogs and she was calm."

"Mo was truly life-changing for our family and our dog. We were at a breaking point with our dog's reactivity. Barking nonstop, lunging, and snapping at anyone new. We felt defeated until we found Mo."

"Mo is the best dog trainer I've met. My dog had aggressive behavior and was not responding to commands. A four week program with Mo and I got a different dog back. Not only is his on leash behavior great but he's just as good off leash."

"Mo is fantastic!!! He took my rescue from uncontrollable and defiant to completely off-leash trained and obedient in 8 weeks. My dog is now doing his public access training for service dog."

"I thought we would have to get rid of our dog because he is so big and strong. We couldn't get him to listen, walk on the leash or anything. Now I can walk him and he listens to commands. Thank you so very much."

"Best training ever! I have used many others for my other dogs but none of them spent the time with us after board and train was over like K9 Obedience Academy did and still does."

You're Not Alone. These Are the Moments That Bring Owners to Mo.

You time walks around when nobody's out

You dread putting the leash on. You're picking weird hours just to avoid the neighbors. The walks you imagined when you got him aren't the walks you're getting.

You stopped having people over

He almost knocked your mom over at Thanksgiving. The kids' friends won't come in the front door. You're constantly apologizing for your own dog.

Something happened, and you're scared

He growled. He snapped. He bolted out the front door and was gone for 30 minutes. You can't unsee it. You need someone who handles this kind of case.

The vet (or groomer) said something

"You really need to work on his behavior." It was said gently, but you heard it. You're not the only one noticing this anymore.

YouTube and group classes didn't stick

You've watched a hundred Reels. The group class was a circus. Treats work for thirty seconds. You don't need more tips. You need a real plan for your specific dog.

You feel like you're failing him

He's a good dog. You love him. You just want the version of life you imagined when you brought him home. That's exactly why people call Mo.

Calm, Structured, Balanced.

Mo's military and police K9 background didn't teach him to be harsh. It taught him to be calm, consistent, and clear. Balanced training combines positive reinforcement with fair, predictable structure, the same methodology behind working dogs, adapted for family homes.

❤️

Balanced, Modern Methods

Reward what's right. Set fair, predictable boundaries for what's not. No fear, no harshness, no "alpha" drama. Just clear communication your dog actually understands.

🏠

Real-World Reliable

Off-leash reliable, anywhere. Mendon Ponds on a Saturday. Wegmans parking lot. Your front door when guests arrive. If it doesn't hold up where life happens, it doesn't matter.

🏫

Custom Plan, Not a Package

Every dog is different. Mo builds a plan around your specific dog, your home, your family, your schedule. No cookie-cutter program. No one-size-fits-all.

Owner Coaching & Lifetime Support

A trained dog isn't enough. You need to know how to keep it that way. Every program ends with hands-on coaching. Questions six months later? Call Mo. He's not going anywhere.

This isn't a basic obedience class. It's a real path to a calmer dog and a calmer home, for owners ready to invest in lasting results. If you've already tried YouTube, treats, and group classes, and you're done settling, you're in the right place.

Dog training real-world environment Rochester NY K9 Obedience Academy

Every program is proofed in real Rochester environments. Pittsford sidewalks. Fairport parks. Wegmans parking lots. The result is a dog who behaves where life actually happens, not just at graduation.

Honest Answers to Real Questions

I'm worried about anything too harsh. Is your training balanced and modern?
Yes. Our methods are calm, structured, and balanced. We use positive reinforcement to teach what's right and fair, predictable boundaries for what's not. No yelling, no fear, no "alpha" or "dominance" framing. Most of our clients are women who specifically wanted a trainer who wouldn't be rough with their dog. You'll meet Mo at the consultation and can decide if it feels right before you commit to anything.
I've already tried YouTube, treats, and a group class. What makes this different?
You're not alone. Most of our clients come to us after trying exactly that. The difference is a custom plan for your specific dog (not a generic class), real-world proofing (not classroom-only), and owner coaching so you understand why it works. That's what makes results stick.
Will the training hold up around my home, family, and other pets?
Yes. That's the whole point. Every program is proofed in the environments your dog actually lives in: front doors, busy streets, family gatherings, other pets, parks. A dog that performs in a training room and then falls apart at home isn't trained. We don't graduate dogs until they hold up where it counts.
What programs do you offer in Rochester, NY?
Private Lessons (1-on-1 at our facility or in your home), Day Training (drop off 2x/week, dog home every night), Board and Train (2-4 week residential), Puppy Training, and specialized work for Aggressive and Reactive cases. All taught personally by Mo, a USMC veteran trainer.
How long does training take?
Day Training runs several weeks at 2 sessions per week. Board and Train is 2-4 weeks depending on your dog's specific case. Most owners see meaningful change within the first 2 weeks. We'll give you an honest, realistic timeline at the consultation, not a sales pitch.
Do you serve Pittsford, Brighton, Penfield, Webster, Fairport, and Victor?
Yes. We serve all of Greater Rochester including Pittsford, Brighton, Penfield, Webster, Fairport, Victor, Mendon, Perinton, Henrietta, Greece, Irondequoit, Gates, and Chili.
What if my dog has serious issues like biting or aggression?
Mo specializes in cases other trainers refuse. Dog-on-dog aggression, fear-based reactivity, resource guarding, prior bite history. His K9 background means he's worked with dogs most civilian trainers wouldn't take on. Severe cases involving children or requiring medication may be referred to a board-certified veterinary behaviorist first. Honest consultation, real assessment, no shame.
What happens after the program ends?
Every program ends with a full graduation walkthrough where Mo coaches you on every command and how to maintain the results at home. Lifetime support means you can text or call with questions long after. We're not the kind of trainer who disappears once you've paid.
